Brainstorm Topic Ideas: Read, Talk, Sketch, Enjoy was a very interesting section about how to get your ideas flowing on different research topics. It provided examples of where to find preliminary readings to generate ideas towards your topic. The text also informed readers to talk to others and list notes to gain a firm grasp on their topic, by explaining why they care about the subject and how it relates to others as well as yourself. After identifying the topic of your choice, the section gives helpful tips on free writing and mind mapping, this is where you translate your speech into writing.
A key aspect I took away from this section was to be creative an open minded to discuss my topic with others to see how they feel about it. I feel the best way to choose a topic is to think of something you are passionate about outside of the classroom or school in general and do research on it. To avoid using a topic you know the question to you can ask a complex bias question that can take up to five people to answer.
I will work in the Health Care Community; my question will be what are the challenges faced with using herbalist or medicinal medicines in the United States health care field.

Ben Tryer Dives in to the facts aware of the preconceptions while maintain an open mind and forming a knowledgeable opinion. But he seems to struggle forming a knowledgeable question and finding reliable resources. Ben was also new to News, this made it difficult for him to distinguish which sources were reliable as well.
To make sure I gain credible sources while surfing the web the first thing I draw attention to is the domain of the web site. I try to steer towards sources ending in .gov and .edu as these are usually reliable sources. The next step I take into find creditable sources is to check author information, dates and writing style. In ENC 1101 I noticed poor spelling and grammar errors were red flags for a source that is not creditable. Sources that I believe are creditable are scholarly articles, books, and because this is information that can be verified another reliable source. During controversy no one is entitled to the same opinion so I believe controversial issues cannot be discussed without being biased.
My research will be based on the holistic health care community. I will look for the struggles to being holistic medicine to a broad in the United States. My only fear of researching this topic is finding the right internee to reference in my paper. I decided to produce this research because I am passionate about this subject and I believe my research can help me understand more about holistic medicines. I have prior knowledge on different plants that produce health benefits and how exacts is how the plants properties can be broke down, but I am excited to learn more as to why we are not currently using these extracts in the united stated health care field as it seems to be a natural and health beneficial way.

Jimam, Nanloh S. Joseph, Benjamin N. Agba, Dooshima C. Pharmacists' knowledge and perceptions about herbal medicines: A case study of Jos and environs. Medical Journal of Dr. D.Y. Patil University, 2017.
The authors journal proposes authentic advice on herbal medicines, including different knowledge and perceptions on this specific type of therapy. They embark on a search for answers as to why the medicines are not only promoted but used as well.
They approach the situation by examining how the increased health consciousness among the people is increasing the usage of herbal medicines every day. The purpose of the authors study was to go in depth on pharmacist views regarding the use of herbal medicines. The authors explored these therapeutic views through self-administered questionnaires given to 200 pharmacists, which helped them to gain data on knowledge pharmacist knew on the benefits as compared to orthodox medicines.
Information in this journal can be interpreted into my paper to help discuss pharmacist views. Of herbal medicines to support the challenges faced with using herbal medicines in the health care field. You should find this information both interesting and shocking.

The Freedom of Real Apologies
Interview P1
Layli Long Soldier was referring to a congressional resolution of apology, it was important to note that she hadn’t heard about it before because other people probably haven’t heard it either and this is apart of her culture .
Long Soldier is referring to the carefully crafted phrases in the non-delivery of the poet etic apology. She points out the phrasing because the way they made in sound did not match what she seen. They were basically covering up lies with rainbows. These were important because the they made the event seem so neutral and patriotic when really it was dreadful and horrifying.
Specificity is important because it makes your writing interesting and It is important because it helps the reader stay engaged.
This is an informational structured interview with a concerning tone. I can take the way the interviewer structured her questions to develop.
I will interview a pharmacist at the health and wellness center for my research paper. Preferably someone with a background on herbal medicines.
What are your thoughts on herbal medicines?
Are you aware of the health benefits of that plants possess? Can you give me an examples?
Do you think herbal medicines can take over the pharmaceutical industry due to the amount of illnesses arising and the consciousness of the people?
Who you recommend a patient for herbal medicine if there we less side effects and the same efficiency but in a different company that pays you ?
Annoying
Ways People Use
Sources
I enjoyed reading Kyle Stedman’s annoyances. dating spider-man caught my attention the most, no only because this is one of my favorite childhood movies, but it is very relatable. The author basically describes a situation where the effort of surprise is often over ridden by the unnecessary use of quotations. He compared it to someone on a date with the character spider-man and he’s sharing interesting details about himself, but he suddenly shoots a web and spurs off only to come back taking about something that’s on his mind and his companion is lost. Picture yourself watching twilight on television and there’s a power outage due to weather in the beginning of the movie, when the show comes back on your going to be totally lost wondering how everyone become werewolves. This is just an example, but the same principle applies when you are writing us specificity.
If I must choose one annoying way I use sources, it would have to be Uncle Barry and hi Encyclopedia of Useless Information: using too many quotations in a row. I often find myself over quoting during my writings because I feel like I should put it to use fully if I am going to use outside sources. To fix this Kyle Stedman suggested that I question the use of each source, determine why it is there, and consider paraphrasing if there’s just a fact I want to cite.
I don’t feel like there is a difference between the ranking from if I was a college professor. If it is annoying it is annoying, by the way Am I in the Right Movie? Failing to integrate a quotation into the grammar of the preceding sentence is the most annoying.
Peer-review
My peer didn’t have many issues in their annotations. The main issue I came across was that my peer was not specific on his research question, so it was hard to distinguish how he would incorporate his sources in the research. To improve this, I suggest he revises his research question so that it fits the broad range of Baptist Collegiate Ministries he is referring to.
Often mentioning how the BCM’s were engaging in universities other than Florida State University would throw anyone off with a question derived from how does the BCM’s impacts students at FSU. The sources I reviewed were “BCM, local churches partner to minister to college students” and “Campus Ministry: A Statistical Portrait”. Schmalzbauer, John. “Campus Ministry: A Statistical Portrait.” SSRC, religion.ssrc.org/reforum/Schmalzbauer.pdf. 6 Feb. 2007.

Maurice: Are you aware of the health benefits of that plants possess? What was your first encounter with herbal plants?
Toliver: Yes, believe it or not marijuana was my first encounter on this knowledge it contains extreme anti-inflammatory properties, but don’t think they can be assessed through smoking, combustion takes away all the.
Maurice: Do you think herbal medicines can take over the pharmaceutical industry due to the amount of illnesses arising and the consciousness of the people?
Toliver: Yes, if the medicines become more stable, and efficient but there would have to be a lot more research done.
Maurice: Okay, thank you for your time

First Draft
Herbal medicines are at the center of debate in communities derived around health care. This is interesting to me because even after being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, I knew nothing about holistic medicines. I switched from three different medicines just to be introduced to agony from the side effects. After an endless search for the right medicine that would suit my needs, it took for me to do research on my own to find out that there are natural treatments for almost any health deficiency. You would think doctors should mention natural treatment routes before pharmaceutical options as they have less side effects. I find it interesting that these herbal medicines are not widely assessed in today’s health care field. I will be examining the holistic health care community in hopes to get an understanding of the challenges faced with using herbal medicines. The holistic health care community involves those who are aware of the health benefits plants possess. This community will help me investigate a question I developed: What are the challenges faced with using holistic medicines in the health care field?
Holistic medicines, herbal remedies, natural remedies, alternative medicines, or however referenced, their preparations have been widely used for the thousands of years in developing and developed countries. Herbal medicine has roots in diverse cultures all around the world, from the Greeks, to the Celts, the Romans to the Arabs, and the Chinese to the Indians. Every culture and every medicinal system, has used herbs for therapeutic purposes. There are thousands of herbs with thousands of different uses, many of which are used in conventional medicine as well as for natural remedies (D. Kindersley, 2000). Understanding that the pharmaceutical industry is the larger society compared to the holistic medicine today, I explored this particular treatment through the lens of a specific community to get a firm understanding on how herbal medicines work. This research led me to a journal titled A review of the health benefit potentials of herbal plant infusions and their mechanism of actions. “Dependent on the type of plants, one part including (flowers, leaves, branch or roots) or whole sectors (aerial parts or roots) could be accomplished in treatment of acute and chronic diseases” (V. Farzaneh, 2014). Knowing that plants could be medically used, I found that various areas of plants are used in the treatments. Different parts of some plants withhold different medicinal properties. This treatment separates the Holistic Health Care Community from the pharmaceutical industry because the main goal of this community is specifically to treat illnesses with any part of plants that hold healing properties.
The good, the bad, and the ugly. Throughout my research I had to maintain an open mind to distinguish the affordances and limitations of using herbal medicine.” Herbal remedies are easy to take, and many herbs can be grown at home, so they are often more convenient for minor conditions.” It is important to note that herbal remedies cannot replace conventional treatments in many cases, and that not all herbs are safe for human ingestion”(D. Kindersley, 2000). The reasons behind this quote is because what may work for one person does not always necessarily work for the others and could cause people to have some consequences. Due to the negative side effects that could possibly happen they make sure they warn people to check with their doctors first before trying some herbal medications. I also found cultural expectations affect the productivity of holistic medicines. The Chinese/Asian and the western herbal medicine had one main thing to do which was to heal people but the treatments are done differently. “In Western tradition, given herbs and combinations of herbs are used to treat specific illnesses and ailments, rather than the body or spirit as a whole.” The western traditions are not used as much as they used to be but the Chinese traditions are still highly effective. Therefore, there are positive and negative outcomes to these types of treatments due to the uncertainty of how they will work.
“Holistic Medicines”

Kindersley, 2000). This is basically saying, what may work for one person does not always necessarily work for the others and could cause people to have some consequences. Due to the negative side effects that could possibly happen from allergic reactions and raw materials labels usually suggest consumers to check with their doctors first before trying some herbal medications. I also found cultural expectations affect the productivity of holistic medicines. The Chinese/Asian and the western herbal medicine had one main objective which was to heal people but the treatments are performed totally different. “In Western tradition, given herbs and combinations of herbs are used to treat specific illnesses and ailments, rather than the body or spirit as a whole.” The western traditions are not used as much as they used to be but the Chinese traditions are still highly effective. Another way cultural expectations can affect the productivity is because the knowledge on holistic medicines is not as wide spread as normal orthodox medicines. “Doctors are generally aware of what complementary medicine has to offer; in fact, they are better educated than most people about both orthodox and alternative medicine options. However, they are unable to suggest any natural health therapies to patients due to their employment contract. Regulations by health insurance companies prohibit doctors from suggesting natural non-drug treatments as a condition of their employment, backed up by Medical Board Regulations”( L. Zerbe). I thought doctors should recommend the best treatment option for you, therefore the fact that doctors can’t notify a patient of a natural treatment even if it is better it can be seen as a limitation of the information on holistic medicine that could potentially be spread. There are positive and negative results to these types of the treatments due to the uncertainty of how they will work. Outlining the positive and negative outcomes of herbal medicine within the herbal health care community merely shows the distinctive attributes it withholds compared to today’s traditional health care field.
Anyone in relation to the holistic health care community from consumers to health care providers to aspiring herbal health care professionals all play a vital role in the use of herbal medicines. On the consumers side Herbal medicines have the power to change an individual’s whole value of life. Through research I found that holistic medicines are notorious for being more productive at curing certain conditions in comparison to other forms of medication. “One of the greatest benefit associated with herbal medicine is the nonexistence of side effects“(S. Tian). Holistic medicines do not contain chemically mixed products which reduces the amount of adverse effects when it comes to the side effects, these benefits can change a patients entire perspective on living with certain diseases.
Aspiring herbal health care providers are beneficial to the search as to: What are the challenges faced with using herbal medicines in the health care field. Speaking with Alphonso Toliver helped me to gain a deeper look on herbal medicines from a different perspective. Toliver is a graduate student at Florida State University and he explores the depths of biological science major aspiring to be a holistic health practitioner. ”Herbal medicines have the potential to expand but somethings are limiting its abilities. Such as they are ineffective against serious ailments, they cannot cure a broken hand, nor is it able to deal with heart attack related issues as effectively as a conventional doctor”(A. Toliver). Basically, this points out an inefficiency of herbal medicines because it can’t deal with harsh injuries. When faced with a personal question what was your first encounter with herbal plants, Toliver answered “believe it or not marijuana was my first encounter on this knowledge it contains extreme anti-inflammatory properties, but don’t think they can be assessed through smoking, combustion takes away all the.”(A. Toliver) This was interesting to me because I wouldn’t a substance that holds such properties would be deemed illegal.

Did Brian’s tone make you interested in the podcast or throw you off?
His tone actually threw me off, alot of times i had to question my self like" hun?"
Do you agree with the policy that says the caller must ask for help prior to receiving help? Why or why not?
Yes, it is kind of like how in middle school my teacher would always emphasize to "Ask three before me".
What, if anything, does this podcast have to do with the research paper we are writing now? I'm talking form or content. What connections do you see between the two?
This podcast basically will help me to understand how to utilize my resources and not to be in full dependence of the teacher while constructing my paper.

I believe that including all three acts allow listeners to understand the process of the claim. It shows how the claim was formed and further argued, also what other think about the claim. If I was giving a chance I would ask my dad what you think about life on other planets. No, I don’t think he would be able to answer this because he is human like me. Im not scared because I don’t think about if there is another life out there because it has been too long for them to hide. This could be a debate that has no answer so I avoid conversations about these because they tend to get loud and over opinionated. My favorite question that Rosie asked was “Do you understand the difference between telling him what you want and demanding him to do what you want?” This can be applied in multiple situations because often people don’t think alike so you have to take these factors into consideration.
The prologue summary
David is infatuated with extraterrestrial life forms. When he and his four-year-old son looks up in to the stars he sees nothing. so, starts to believe that space is an empty place thinking about the distance and the scarcity of anything a just looking at space. He starts to point out death and how space is a large and dangerous place. But he ends by explain how he couldn’t find anyone to talk it through with because none of them took it seriously.
