A couple years ago I was rushed to the hospital early in the morning before school because I could not feel my legs. During this time, I did not know much about the health care field, the only time I went was for checkups and a common cold. This incident was far more severe after a week full of MRI’s, Spinal taps, and blood test the doctors diagnosed me with Multiple sclerosis. The Doctors gave me a list of treatments to pursue and of course I went with the Doctors suggestion and started with a pharmaceutical medicine. But later down the line the medicine gave me complications due to the side effects, I switched through multiple medications before I took matters into my own hands and did research on my own. Multiple sclerosis is a neurological disease that causes lesions on the brain due to the immune system decaying a protection covering around the nerve that speeds up nerve impulses called a myelinated sheath. Through research I found that there are natural options to treating MS that my doctor never took into consideration. This is when my passion for holistic and medicinal medicines grew. Reminiscing on this event helped me develop my question what are the challenges faced with using holistic medicines in the health care field. This type of treatment is important because people are unaware of the health benefits of the plants growing around them. I intend on exploring my question by searching for the fights to bring holistic medicine in to the United States Herbal Health Care Community.

The Authors of this journal explore through the minds of consumers when it comes to the efficacy and safety of herbal medicines. Stewart and Odle help to come to the conclusion as to why student pharmacists' poster presentations significantly changed the perception regarding the efficacy of herbal dietary supplements, but not the perception of safety.
This preliminary study sets out to seek the consumer's attitudes and insight about herbal therapy before and after viewing student pharmacists' posters. The poster included information on various supplements and herbal therapies. An eleven-question survey was distributed between 61 attendees. Demographic information was asked, and questions concerning opinions of safety and efficacy of natural supplements and herbal therapies. Additionally, respondents were asked about their intended future use of herbal therapies. there was not an anticipated change in the use of natural and herbal therapies among the respondents. Prior use of or familiarity with natural or herbal products did not influence future anticipated use.
I will use the information throughout this text to refute the reasons as to why herbal medicines are not used in the medicinal field, readers should find this fact driven information helpful and interesting.

The study evaluated the stability of NIPRIMAL® under three different storage conditions: Normal room temperature, infrared and under refrigeration. Measured by differential scanning calorimetry and Thin Layer Chromatography the experiment produced astonishing results which concluded that the herbal product could be stored under any of the tested conditions without degradation.
